HIGH & HEAVY brings together four of Perth’s best exponents of the heavy riff. DATURA4, GIANT DWARF BLACK BUZZARD and FAT MAMMOTH join forces for a one-two-three-four punch line-up of fuzzed-up heavy riffs, psychedelic blues and boogie wig-outs at BADLANDS Friday August 4.
DATURA4
Recently returned from playing the Gumball Festival and a successful east-cost tour, and with their sights on Europe in September/October on the back of their latest album ‘Neanderthal Jam, Datura4 have been on a supercharged, non-stop rock-n-roll mission of full-tilt boogie riffs, pounding drum grooves and freaked-out fuzz over the course of 5 impressive albums. “Demon Blues” (2015) “Hairy Mountain” (2016), "Blessed is the Boogie" (2019) and "West Coast Highway Cosmic" (2020), released through USA label Alive Naturalsound Records. Fronted by Dom Mariani (The Stems, DM3) Datura4 also features Warren Hall (ex The Drones) on drums, Stu Loasby from The Majestic Kelp on bass and legendary West Australian keyboard wizard, the voodoo summoning Bob Patient. Receiving kudos from the likes of Alice Cooper and Steve Van Zandt, as well as rave reviews from publications Rolling Stone, Shindig! and Classic Rock, Datura4 have solidified their place on the local and overseas stages, having completed an extensive European tour in October 2019 and sharing stages with the likes of The Pretty Things, ZZ Top, Kevin Borich, Tumbleweed and Little Stevie’s Disciples of Soul.

Giant Dwarf are a Western Australian based Heavy Psych quintet currently distributed by Sound Effect Records (EU). Blending Heavy, trippy and melodic tones, The Dwarf are currently knuckling down on their sophomore full length release late ‘23 and subsequent tours in ‘24.

SCREECHING BLACK BUZZARD WITH A FREIGHT TRAIN OF ROAMING ELECTRIC. BUFFALOES TO GIVE YOU A MULE KICK UP THE ASS AND SOME HOT LOVIN ROCK N ROLL RIFFS & GOIN’ STRONG ALL NIGHT LONG! BLACK BUZZARD FORMED THE CHAMBER OF LIBERATION TO EXPRESS FREEDOM, PLAYING LOUD, HIGH-ENERGY MUSIC, WHICH IS WHAT THEY LOVE MOST, WHILST CREATING CRAZY, DIRTY ROCKIN BLUES JAMS WHICH CAN GO ANYWHERE. WRESTLING WITH ROCK N ROLL OUTFITS PREVIOUSLY SUCH AS HELLMENN, M-16'S, & FOURSTROKE. THESE VETERANS SPIT ROCK! THEY WILL BE RELEASING A FRESH RECORDING FROM KINGDOM STUDIOS VERY SOON THIS YEAR. Fat Mammoth are a tribe of fossils playing original cave/garage rock. The name evolved from the massive bass tone...it's Fat... it's Mammoth!
